Hello Tuxedo,
I’m running for a term on the Tuxedo Town Council. I want to continue progress made so far to shape a future for our town.
My name is John Sandak, and I’m excited to announce that I’m running for the Tuxedo Town Board on November 4, 2025.
For those who don’t know me, I’ve proudly called Tuxedo home for the past 21 years. My wife and I have raised our two boys here, and over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in our community, especially through youth sports and recreation.
When my oldest son turned five and wanted to play baseball, I jumped in as a coach, umpire, and eventually a board member of Tuxedo Little League, later serving as its President. During that time, I led my youngest son’s Tuxedo team to victory in the 2019 Suffern Little League Poppe Tournament Championship. I continued coaching and managing teams to ensure our kids could keep playing the game they love.
That passion inspired me to create a Tuxedo Travel Team, giving our players the unforgettable experience of playing at Boulders Stadium. The memories were priceless.
As my boys grew, I launched a summer sandlot league to keep the spirit of community baseball alive. I’m proud to say it still runs today, continuing to bring families together.
Currently, I serve on the Tuxedo Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, where I volunteer at town events like the Fall Festival, Turkey Trot, Fishing Derby, and our youth basketball program. I’m also an active member of the Tuxedo Park Fire Department Company 1, serving as a fire police officer and peace officer.
In my free time, I love to fish, and as a member of the Tuxedo Fishing Club, I get to enjoy our town’s natural beauty firsthand.
My vision for Tuxedo is simple and strong:
✅ Expand and support local recreation programs
✅ Welcome new businesses to town
✅ Support thoughtful development of Tuxedo Reserve
✅ Champion revitalization projects that move our town forward
We’re on the brink of change, and with new development comes new opportunity.
Let’s be ready. Let’s embrace it. And let’s protect what makes Tuxedo special while building a future we can all be proud of.
